Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park is in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in third century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. Along with Kaudulla and Girithale, Minneriya forms one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Sri Lanka.

Hiriwaduna Village Tour

Covering an area of 8,864 ha and ranging from an altitude of 300 – 1,170 meters, it consists of 6,092 ha of Forest Reserve and 2,772 ha of Proposed Forest Reserve. While stimulating among best places for water sports, you will find the most wanted subjects in the world’s famous tourist paradise Bentota. A number of great sports activities can be played at the Bentota River. Jet skiers. Water skis, surf boards, and speed boats are available at many sports centers around Bentota. Beginners can be trained under the supervision of professional trainees of water sports.

Colombo

Colombo is the commercial capital and the largest city of Sri Lanka.
